Former #1 overall pick Kwame Brown has been cast off by the Washington Wizards. He never materialized into the front-line force that the Wiz expected.
The Washington Wizards extended a qualifying contract offer Wednesday to Brown, who was suspended at the end of last season. He's a restricted Free Agent, so the Wiz can match any offer from another team, but there is a good chance they may not bother. He's burned some bridges in DC.
At 6'11", 250 lbs, Brown would bring some much needed size to the Sixers front line.
Dalembert, Webber, Brown.......not bad.
Now, the hard part. Since the Sixers are over the cap, would he be willing to sign for the mid-level exception ($5m or so ?).
Let's see how creative Billy King can be.

Another NBA team with cap space will give Brown a "BIG" contract. That's the way the NBA works. Even though hehas stunk up the joint since he arrived, he'll get the big bucks !
