Phillies 2 week Report card

The Phillies first 2 weeks were basically OK. With the excpetion of Kyle Kendrick, their Starting pitching has been good. Cole Hamels has been stellar and Adam Eaton, who many thought should be released, has had 2 quality starts.

Ryan Howard has been awful, but has been picked up nicely by Pat Burrell's red hot start. Ruiz, Feliz and Victorino have all had very slow starts and should start improving.

All in all, with the slow starts of key position players and the injury to Jimmy Rollins, the Phillies have weathered the storm adequately.

Needs : The Phillies should trade for another speedy Outfielder. Shane Victorino now has the same injury he had late last year that kept him out of the lineup for a month. The Phillies can not afford and gamble that he'll be healthy all year. The Dodgers' outfiled is "crowded" and the time is right to offer a trade for Juan Pierre. He'd fill the void in Center Field, due to Victorino's absence and would also provide the spark and speed at the top of the lineup. I'd assume the Dodgers would want a top prosepct or possibly a relief pitcher.

Tom Gordon for sale ?? We could only hope !
