The 76ers are one of two NBA teams that can make a splash in this season's Free agent market. One of the very few impact Free agents availabble this Summer is Atlanta's Josh Smith. He (Smith) visited the Sixers yesterday and all reports indicate he was impressed. Smith turned down a 4 year, $45 million offer from the Atlanta Hawks, so the Sixers will need to come up with a significant deal to land the 24 year old.
Smith has improved year after year since his arrival in 2004. At 6'9", he can run the floor like a guard and has outstanding shooting range for a big man.
Josh Smith would be an outstanding addition to this young 76ers team. Smith, along with Thaddeus Young and Louis Williams would give the Sixers a tremendous nucleus of young talent and make them an instant playoff team.
