Brian Dawkins is completing his 13th season as a Philadelphia Eagle. He has been the heart and soul of the Eagles Defense since 1996. This may be B-Dawk's last year and I believe he will get consideration for the Football Hall of Fame. He has 34 career interceptions which is far short of some current Safetys in Hall of Famers (Paul Krause- 71, Larry Wilson - 52, Ronnie Lott - 63). However, Dawkins brings some of the same intensity and leadership that Ronnie Lott did during his years in San Francisco.
Dawkins has always played to the whistle on every play of every game. If the Hall of Fame uses desire and commitment as criteria for entry, Dawkins would be a first ballot selection.
Along with Chuck Bednarik and Reggie White, Dawkins will certainly go down as one of the greatest Philadelphia Eagles Defensive players ever.
Hoping B-Dawk has a ticket to Canton in his future. He deserves it.
