Temple Football is now Legitimate !

Temple University will play in a Bowl game on December 29th. Yes, Temple ! After years of langusihing as the laughing stock of NCAA Division I football, the Owls have elevated themselves to a respectable program. A major reason for this is their coach, Al Golden.

Golden inherited a team that was 1-11 in 2005. This year's squad is 9-3 and will play UCLA in the Eagle Bank bowl in Washington DC. That's a long way from 1-11.

The MAC conference (where Temple plays) is a far cry from the SEC and Big East, but it's very competitive and will only help aid Golden as he recruits top tier High School talent in the future.

Temple's only problem will be holding on to Golden. Success will only bring about bigger opportunities for him. It's only a matter of time before a big football program goes after Golden.

Temple won't be able to keep Golden if a Big East or Big 10 type school sets their sites on him.

At least Temple is now on the NCAA Division I football map. For years, it was lost somewhere on North Broad Street.
