LaSalle is Snake Bit

The LaSalle Explorers Men's Basketball team lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer yesterday to Charlotte 84-82. This team is currently 10-9 and conservatively could be 14-5. Going into the season, there were very high expectations for this experienced, senior-led squad. By adding highly touted recruit, Aairc Murray, the Explorers should have had their ticket punched for an NCAA bid.

Injuries, sloppy play, and frankly some bad luck have affected the Explorers. Now we find out that key contributor, Kimmani Barrett is out for the season. This team seems snake bit !

The Explorers need their point guard, senior Ruben Guillandeaux back asap if they have any chance of making an impact in the Atlantic 10 this season. He's missed 15 games this year due to injury.

At this stage of the season, seniors Rodney Green and Yves Mekongo need to step it up a notch. It's also imperative that Coach John Giannini improve on his "X's and O's". This team has come up short at end of games when they needed a basket or a defensive stop. Giannini needs to do a better job at closing out games.

A once promising season has turned bad. Perhaps there is one last run left in this team. Let's hope so.

Here we go Explorers.............here we go......
