It's Desperation Time for the Phillies

Ruebn Amaro has waied too long to make any moves. The 2010 season is slowly slipping away from the Phils and it's time to react now.

My suggestions :

1) Trade Jayson Werth. He'll be a free agent, and most likely will sign with the Cubs or Yankees next year. If a starter isn't available, get a front line reliever. Scott Downs from the Blue Jays would be a good acquisition. He's a lefty and could replace Romero or even Lidge in the pen.

2) Release Danys Baez. He flat out stinks this year.

3) Bench Raul Ibanez and bring up Domenic Brown from Scranton. It's time to see what Brown can do and frankly he can't do any worse than Ibanez this season.

4) Fire Milt Thompson as hitting coach. The Phillies hitting has been atrocious this year and they lack any discipline or strategy when they are at the plate.

5) Finally, Charlie Manual needs to light a fire into this team. If a player isn't performing, bench them. This is no time for egos or feelings. Manual needs to show the team that he is boss.
