It's obvious that this Phillies team lacks any type of leadership. Not one of the regular every day players has stepped up as the lead guy on this team.
The 1980 team had multiple leaders (Rose, Schmidt, Boone, Bowa) and they had a Manager (Dallas Green) that was not afraid to get in a player's face and tell him when he was not performing.
The 1993 Championship team had Lenny Dykstra and Darren Daulton as leaders. Dykstra was the catalyst for the '93 team. He played hard every night and was outstanding under pressure. His home run in game 6 of the '93 NLCS against the Braves solidified him as one of the Phillie's all time clutch players.
This current team simply does not have a player that is willing or capable of being the leader in the clubhouse. Charlie Manual certainly isn't Dallas Green !
