2007 Explorer Basketball - Terrible !

The 2006-07 LaSalle Men's basketball team was simply bad. The team played primarily freshman most of the year, but there was little improvement from game to game. Although, John Giannini's team was young, there was a sense of optimism coming off last year's 18-10 record.

A very weak out of conference schedule certainly did not prepare this young Explorer team for the Atlantic 10 conference. An embarrassing 3-13 conference record (10-20 overall) banished LaSalle from the conference tournament for this year. (The last 2 teams from the 14 team league don't qualify for the year end tournament).

The entire season was non-descript ! Junior guard, Darnell Harris had a disappointing season, as did Senior, Mike St. John. Alot was expected from those two, especially since a rotation of 5 freshman was in place. They really needed some mentorship from the upperclassman, but it didn't materialize.

Freshman Rodney Green, Kimanni Barrett, Yves Mbala-Mekongo and Ruben Guillandeux all played significant minutes this season and had decent years. They will be expected to improve their games next season.

Ok......let's see if the Explorers can turn things around next season.
