Phillies Need a Right Hand Bat off the Bench in 2009

The Phillies need a right hand bat off the bench for 2009. The Phil's bench already has very good left hand bats in Matt Stairs and Greg Dobbs. Here are some options that the Phillies should consider.

1) Moises Alou - I know...he's an ex-Met, but I'd still see if he has anything in the tank. At 42, he wouldn't play the field, but he can still hit.

2) Mark Grudzielanek - Very good utility player and is a career .290 hitter.

3) Kevin Millar - Like Alou, Millar can still hit. He could also spell Howard at first periodcially. His natural position is third base, where the Phils already have a log jam (Feliz, Dobbs, Bruntlett).

4) Nomar Garciappara - Nomar was hurt most of 2008, but he's a lifetime .314 hitter and could be a very good option as a pinch hitter late in games.

Bottom Line is that all of these players are a step up from So Taguchi !
