Amaro Owes Fans an Explanation

I don't understand the Cliff Lee trade at all. It just doesn't make sense. Ruben Amaro (GM) claims he needed prospects to replenish the farm system. You're kidding, Ruben. You trade one of the best pitchers in the game to replenish your farm system. Moronic move !

Even though Lee had one year remaining before he becomes a free agent, he indicated he wanted to stay with the Phillies. If he left after next year, he's a bargain at $9 million a year for the Phils in 2010.

The fans do not care about prospects who won't even make the majors for 2 or 3 more years. It's all about winning now. Could you imagine a starting rotation that includes Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, and Cole Hamels ? The Phillies would be odds on favorites to go to their 3rd straight World Series.

You blew it Ruben !

Lee would not have re-signed w/ Philadelphia. He'll end up with the Yankees.
