Will LaSalle's Steven Smith make the Sixer squad this coming year ?
Looking back on the recent 2006 NBA draft, I was a bit surprised that Smith was not drafted. There were some questionable selections, including many average players from the big time conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, etc.). I guess NBA scouts feel the Atlantic-10 is just not as competitive as the major conferences.
The 76ers could probably use a forward coming off the bench this season, especially a rebounder. Frankly, I would think Smith has a very good chance of making the team. The Sixers bench was thin last year. They (the Sixers) may have to "compete" with the Golden State Warriors who also invited Smith to their Rookie camp.
Let's hope we see Smith in a Sixer uniform this coming season !
