Lidge's 2009 season is over

The Phillies can not put Brad Lidge on their post season roster. He would simply be taking a spot for someone who could add value. Lidge is 0-8 and has an ERA of 7.51. He leads the majors in blown saves with 11.

During the playoffs, the Phillies will need relievers that can get hitters out. Right now, Lidge can not do that. The Phillies management need to close the door on Lidge for 2009. By keeping him on the roster, they are basically just wasting a spot, since there is no way Manual would ever use him in a tight spot.

Currently, by using Lidge in any situation, the Phillies are taking a huge gamble. It is painfully obvious that Brad Lidge has deteriorated in 2009 and needs to shut it down for 2009.

It's time !
