Iverson is Back Where He Belongs

Allen Iverson is home in Philadelphia where he belongs. It was such a no-brainer for the Philadelphia 76ers to re-sign AI. Three main reasons stick out : (1) The team flat out stinks, (2) the attendance is at the bottom of the NBA and (3) Iverson can still play.

Pound for pound Iverson is probably the greatest player to ever play in the NBA. He ranks 17th all time in scoring (over 27,000 points) and has the 6th best all time scoring average (27.1 ppg). He is a warrior on the court and no one could ever criticize his desire or intensity on the court. He plays hard every minute of every game. He may be a gunner, but he never takes a play off.

I'm sure AI lacks the quickness he once had and will be a defensive liability, but right now, he's exactly what the Philadelphia 76ers need. At least for the first month, he'll infuse some much needed energy and excitement into this franchise.

Who knows, maybe we'll see that famous cross-over dribble again and he'll surprise some people.
