Giants Simply Outplayed the Phillies

The San Francisco Giants deserved to win the 2010 NLCS. They simply wanted it more than the Phillies. The Giants had players, like Cody Ross, Pat Burrell nd Aubrey Huff who were playing for future contracts and careers, while the fat cat Phillies, like Ryan Howard, lacked the incentive.

Don't blame Ryan Madson for the loss in game 6. The Giants scored 3 runs in the game and the Phillies should be able to score 4 or more. Period ! The Phils offense disappeared in this NLCS, and frankly has been non existent most of the 2010 season.

Charlie Manual did not shine in this NLCS either. His decision to go to Madson in the 7th inning last night over Jose Contreras was questionable. Also, his confidence in Ben Francisco as a clutch pinch hitter is perplexing. Francisco's pinch hit appearance in the 6th inning last night with a man on 3rd and one out was one of the worst at bats all season.

Hats off to the Giants who simply wanted to win more than the Phillies.

I won't be watching one inning of the World Series. No interest. Yes, that sounds like sour grapes, but a Phillies vs. Yankees World Series just had more appeal.
