I went to the Palestra yesterday to see LaSalle play Oklahoma State. The Explorers had a 10 point lead over the Cowboys with 10 minutes left to go in the game. They let OSU claw their way back into the game, eventually forcing overtime. Oklahoma State ultimately won the game in Double OT, but recognized they were fortunate. “A good win,” said OSU coach Travis Ford. “People have to realize, this is a good La Salle team. I’m glad to win this game in double overtime, triple overtime, whatever we needed to do to win this game, because it was a tough game.”
Although it was very disappointing to see the Explorers lose, this team continues to battle and shows the propensity to compete with very good teams. All 3 losses this year have come to very good Big 12 teams (Baylor, Mizzou, Okla State).
This Explorer team is young and should be very competitive in the Atlantic 10 conference this season.
Notes :
- There is no better place to watch a college basketball game then the Palestra.
- LaSalle plays Villanova Sunday (12/12) at Gola Arena. Do you smell upset ?
