It's all about the money. Don't let anyone say it's not. Jayson Werth signed a 7 year, $126 million contract with the Washington Nationals. To say they over paid for Werth is a large understatement.
Werth certainly didn't sign with the Nats to win a pennant. Washington won't come within 20 games of the National league pennant this coming season.
The Phillies never would have given Werth 7 years. He'd be lucky to get 4 years with the Phils. Frankly, $126 million is a staggering number and Werth did what most people would have done.......take the money and run.
