Signing Pedro is Risky

Signing Pedro Martinez may be a bit of a gamble for the Phillies. I would ask the question, "Why are the Phillies the only team that seems interested in Martinez" ? He hasn't pitched in the majors since last Summer and his statistics were terrible for the Mets in '09. He was 5-6 , with an ERA of 5.61.

I'd like to see the Phillies aggressively pursue Roy Halladay. Everyone is concerned that the Phils will have to give up too many of their valuable prospects to land Halladay. Frankly, major league sports is about winning now, not in 5 years.

Halladay would most likely lock down the NL East for the Phillies and make them a heavy favorite to win the Pennant.

If it's between Martinez and Halladay............that's a no brainer !
