Andy Reid must be alot smarter than all of the Philadelphia media, the Philadelphia Eagles fans and the players, themselves. For the second year in a row, the Eagles traded their first round draft pick (#19 overall) because Reid did not see a player he "wanted" at that slot. When Carolina offered their #1 pick in 2009, Reid said "that was a deal, he couldn't refuse".
Andy - Do you think the Eagles fans care at all about 2009 ? And do you think Donovan McNabb thought it was a good deal ? I'm sure McNabb just shrugged his shoulders and asked himself, do I want to be part of another rebuilding year ?
The Eagles need play-makers. It's obvious to everyone else (except Reid) that the Birds need a big receiver, a return man, and another RB to spell Westbrook. On Defense, the Eagles need a Safety to replace Dawkins in '09.
Reids' gems this past weekend included, drafting a CB, who was arrested and also tore his ACL and can't play football for a year. He also drafted a DE from Wheaton College, where the toughest competition played this year was against that powerhouse school, Concordia University ! He spend the 3rd round selection on a DE from McNeese State. Isn't that a Cosmetology School ? If my count is correct, the Eagles now have about 13 Defensive Ends on the roster !
Oh, one more thing, Andy......the Cowboys and the Redskins must really be dumb....they both drafted receivers, tight ends and running backs.
