Broad Street Bullies Time !

The Penguins beat the Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals last night which may have been expected. (The Flyers have lost every game 1 so far in these Stanley Cup Playoffs).

The Penguins showed up the Flyers last night, particularly one of their many Russian players, Evgeni Malkin. What kind of a name is Evgeni ? It sounds like a social disease.

Trailing 3-2, the Flyers were on the power play when Mike Richards completely leveled Malkin. A few seconds later (lazily skating toward his bench), Malkin found himself with a gift break away and proceeded to wind up with a slap shot 10 feet from the Flyers goalie. Of course, he scored. At that point, the Flyers should have nailed Malkin and sent him back to Siberia.

The Flyers need to get very physical with the Penguins now. They need to make the Russians, as well as Sidney "the flopper" Crosby think twice about going into the corners because they'll get leveled.

I am not a huge hockey fan, but these Penguins seem to get an inordinate amount of breaks. Frankly, they are looking past the Flyers and already focusing on the Stanley Cup Finals. It's time for the Fly-boys to bring the Penguins back to reality. Bring on the Broad Street Bullies !
