Hide your Beagle, Vick's an Eagle

The Eagles signed Michael Vick this week and that has certainly caused a great deal of controversy. Frankly, even though Vick is a great athlete and can cause headaches for opposing defenses, I have no idea why the Eagles would bring him on. Vick is a QB, and the last I looked, the Eagles have a pretty good QB in #5.

Even if Vick is incorporated into the Bird's offense with new formations like the Wildcat, that will only account for a handful of plays a game.

My theory is that the Eagles have major concerns about Kevin Kolb being the Eagles backup QB, or his knee injury is more serious than they are letting on to.

To get optimal contribution from Vick, the Eagles will have to use him as a punt returner, wideout or anyplace where he can touch the football.

It will certainly be interesting how Vick is used this year.

I am sure we're all going to get tired of seeing the likes of PETA, ASPCA and any dog lover protesting the Eagles signing of Vick. That is getting old, it's time to move on.
